Financial stability is not an end in itself, but it is, like price stability, widely regarded as an important precondition for sustainable economic growth. The Central Bank of Suriname (CBvS) defines ‘financial stability’ as the range of conditions where the financial system, including the national payment system, is able to withstand shocks without major disruption in financial intermediation and economic performance.

Publicatie Regionale Financiële Stabiliteitsrapport 2020

Het Regionaal Financieel Stabiliteits Coördinatie Comité (FRSCC) kondigt met groot genoegen de publicatie van het Regionale Financiële Stabiliteitsrapport (RFSR) 2020 aan. Deze editie van het RFSR is opgesteld te midden van de COVID-19-pandemie. De economische, financiële en sociale gevolgen van de pandemie en de beleidsreacties om de aanhoudende crisis aan te pakken, vormden de rode draad bij de inspanningen van de monetaire– en toezichthoudende autoriteiten om de financiële stabiliteit in het Caribisch gebied te bewaren. De pandemie is zich nog steeds aan het ontvouwen en veroorzaakt daardoor nog steeds wereldwijde economische en financiële verstoringen. Het rapport bestrijkt de verschillende gebieden welke nodig zijn om de stabiliteit van het financieel systeem in het Caribisch gebied te beoordelen.
