XLIV (44th) Annual Monetary Studies Conference 2012

The 44th Annual Monetary Studies Conference will be held from 7 - 9 November, 2012 in Paramaribo, Suriname. The Central Bank of Suriname is slated to co-host this event, together with the Caribbean Centre for Money and Finance (CCMF).

 

The theme of this year�s Conference is �Global Financial Shocks, Regional Macro-economic Challenges and their Impact on Regional Economic Integration�.

Specific topics for discussion include:

* banking finance and regulation;

* strategies and policies to strengthen regional economic integration;

* inflation and economic management;

* fiscal challenges and debt management in the aftermath of the global financial crisis;

* improving stock market performance in the region;

* understanding the workings of financial markets in small open economies;

* public sector operations and macroeconomics stability;

* sectorial linkages and economic development;

* financial sector stability.

 

A former Executive Director of CCMF, Professor Emeritus Ramesh Ramsaran, will be delivering the Adlith Brown Memorial Lecture.
